The Plano Multicultural Outreach Roundtable is an Advisory Group to the City of Plano. It was founded by Mayor Pat Evans in November 2002 for the purpose of seeking input and making recommendations to the City Council on methods, practices, programs, and other means by which the City of Plano can effectively serve the entire community and meet the objectives of local government.
You are encouraged to help us in our efforts. Membership is open to anyone with interest and energy; there are no membership fees or financial commitments expected of you, only your time and talent! Please join us at our monthly meetings and in our committees to advance the cause of inclusivity in the City of Plano. You may receive e-notices of our meetings (and other announcements) by signing up with the City's LISTSERV and choosing SUBSCRIBE under MULTICULTURAL INFORMATION.
(Eventually) you will find on this website reference to the many cultural organizations in the City of Plano. A cultural calendar marks not only our meetings but also significant days and events in the calendar of our many cultures. There will be links to sites of interest to our efforts, such as the PLANO INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL, an off-shoot of MCOR. The group also mounts the City of Plano's National Day of Prayer. And CITIZENSHIP programs will offer information and application help via MCOR. A Recreation Committee organizes the likes of the World Peace Table Tennis Tournament.
Indeed, this website is like MCOR itself, a work in progress. It seeks to be as useful as possible to the greatest number of citizens of Plano. In that regard, your suggestions are most welcome! (In addition, you may join the Web Committee for further input and discussions.)
